Warriors now know asking price for Bronny James-Lakers trade

The Golden State Warriors now have a better idea of what it would take to bring Bronny James to the Bay Area. According to league sources, the Los Angeles Lakers have set a firm asking price for the 21-year-old guard, and the Warriors appear to be in a position to meet it if they decide to pursue a deal.

Bronny James, the son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, has seen limited playing time in Los Angeles this season. He has spent most of his rookie campaign splitting time between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. While his numbers have been modest, his potential and name recognition have drawn interest from several teams, including Golden State.

The Warriors, who have long valued young talent with upside, see Bronny as a possible long-term project. His defensive instincts and basketball IQ are considered strong, even if his offensive game needs refinement. The asking price is not expected to be a major haul of assets. Instead, it is believed to involve a combination of a second-round pick and a young player or salary filler.

For the Lakers, moving Bronny could free up a roster spot and provide some future flexibility. For the Warriors, it would be a low-risk gamble on a player who could develop under their system. The question now is whether Golden State will make the call.
