Recreation and Sports Schedule for October 9 to 18, 2026

October 8, 2026 - 01:09

A busy stretch of college and prep athletics is on tap over the next ten days, along with several community recreation programs open to local residents.

College action leads off on Friday, October 9, with a full slate of conference matchups in soccer and volleyball. Several schools will host doubleheaders that continue through the weekend. Cross country teams also return to competition with invitational meets scheduled for Saturday morning at regional courses.

Prep sports fill the middle of the week. High school football games are set for Friday, October 16, under the lights, while soccer and field hockey playoffs begin to take shape. Volleyball programs wrap up their regular seasons with key divisional matches on October 13 and 15.

Community recreation offerings include open swim sessions, adult pickup basketball, and youth instructional clinics. Registration for winter leagues opens during this period, and residents are encouraged to sign up early because spots fill quickly.

Golf courses and tennis courts remain open weather permitting. Trail walks and nature programs are also available at local parks throughout the week.

Schedules can change because of weather or field conditions. Participants should check with their league or facility before heading out.
