Iowa State tramples Texas Tech to reach Big 12 semifinals

A commanding defensive performance propelled Iowa State into the Big 12 Championship semifinals. The fifth-seeded Cyclones dismantled fourth-seeded Texas Tech, cruising to a decisive 75-53 victory Thursday afternoon in Kansas City.
Guard Tamin Lipsey led the charge, scoring a game-high 20 points to pace the Iowa State offense. The Cyclones set the tone early, establishing a double-digit lead in the first half and never looking back. Their signature pressure defense stifled Texas Tech throughout the contest, forcing numerous turnovers and converting them into easy transition baskets.
The win marks a significant step for Iowa State in the conference tournament. The team's cohesive play on both ends of the floor proved too much for the Red Raiders to handle. With the victory secured, the Cyclones now turn their focus to the tournament semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Kansas vs. Cincinnati matchup. The team will look to carry this momentum forward as they continue their pursuit of a Big 12 tournament title.
