Veteran running back Austin Ekeler is returning to the NFL after agreeing to a deal with the Washington Commanders, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The move brings the former Los Angeles Chargers standout to an NFC contender looking to strengthen its backfield for the upcoming season.

Ekeler spent the first seven years of his career with the Chargers, where he developed into one of the league's most versatile offensive weapons.
