Arizona Strengthens Secondary with New Commitment
January 16, 2026 - 19:09
In a significant boost for the upcoming season, Arizona has added former Howard cornerback Zuri Watson to its roster. This move comes as the Wildcats face a challenging off-season, having seen a substantial reduction in their defensive back options. With 21 players originally listed as defensive backs, the team was left with only 10 returning players due to graduation, the NFL Draft, and transfers through the NCAA portal.
The addition of Watson brings the total number of defensive backs back up to 21, enhancing the team's depth and competitive edge. Watson's experience and skills are expected to play a crucial role in revitalizing Arizona's secondary. As the Wildcats prepare for the 2025 season, bolstering their defense is a priority, and Watson’s commitment signifies a proactive approach to addressing the needs in their roster. The coaching staff is optimistic that this addition will fortify the team's defensive strategy moving forward.
